There is a Vinayaka temple in Tamil Nadu that changes its color every six months and looks amazing. And the uniqueness of the temple .. let’s find out what ..!

Adhisaya Vinayakar Temple: Ganapati is the leader who receives the first puja and burns the vignas. There are many Ganesha temples in our country. Most of them have uniqueness. There is a Vinayaka temple in Tamil Nadu that changes its color every six months and looks amazing. And the uniqueness of the temple .. let’s find out what ..!

There is a magnificent Ganesha temple in the village of Keralapuram in Nagercoil district. This temple is also known as the Sri Mahadevar Athisaya Vinayagar Temple. The small temple is a land of many wonders. The glory of this temple is great. The reason for this is that Ganesha, the protagonist of this temple, changes his color once in six months and feels amazing. Ganesha is black till the time of Uttarayana (March to June). It is white from southerly (July to February). Devotees believe that changing colors in this way is the greatness of this Ganesha.

There is another peculiarity in the Atishaya Vinayagar Temple. There is a fresh water well in the temple premises. The fact that water has no color is something we all know. But it’s not the same elsewhere .., I’m not sure this is the well here. The water in this well changes its color just as the Ganesha here changes its color. There is, however, a small difference in this change.

When Ganesha is black .., the water in this well is white. When Ganesha is white .., the water in this well is black. Not only that, but there is another weirdness to it. It is natural for the leaves of trees to fall off, usually in the autumn. However, this seasonal distinction does not apply to Tamil and Kerala forests due to dense forests. They are always evergreen. However, the marijuana tree in this temple begins to shed its leaves in the south and sprout in the north. That is why this temple is also known as the Miracle Vinayakar Temple.

Historical significance:.

According to historians, the temple dates back to the 12th century and was built in the year 1317. The temple has a history of 2300 years. In fact it is a Shiva temple. There is a Shiva temple in front of the walled courtyard of this temple. After that the Vinayaka temple was built. That is why this temple is called Sri Mahadevar Athisaya Vinayagar Temple.
At that time, the temple was dominated by Vaishnavism. The temple has been rebuilt many times. The government of Kerala also dominated the temple during that period. The states later split. With this, Sri Mahadevar Athisaya Vinayagar Temple came to Tamil Nadu. This reduced the dominance of the Kerala government over the temple.
