In the last 24 hours, Portugal registered over 1,565 cases of infection by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, 14 deaths attributed to covid-19 and an increase in hospital admissions with the disease.
According to the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), 681 people with covid-19 are hospitalized this Wednesday, four more than on Tuesday, 131 of which in intensive care units, less five in the last 24 hours.
The area of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, with 572 new cases and the North region, with 495, have 68.1% of the total of new infections verified in the last 24 hours.
The deaths occurred in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region (6), in the North region (3), in the Center region (2) and in the Algarve (3).
Regarding the victims’ ages, five were over 80 years old, two between 70 and 79, four between 60 and 69 and three between 50 and 59 years.
the incidence of covid-19 per 100 thousand inhabitants rose, both in the national territory and in the continent: it is now 303.5 cases in Portugal and 310.2 in the mainland. Last Monday, it was 297.7 in the national territory and 303.3 in the mainland.
