Antarvedi Rathodsavam: Antarvedi Jana Sandhramaindi. So many people to come. Sri Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy Temple Chariot Festival was held in grand style. Devotees came in large numbers to witness the glory of God. Swami’s welfare was witnessed by all eyes. Huge provision has been made to prevent any untoward incidents.
The only height that has happened so far. Another height that happened today. Srilakshmi Narasimhaswamy Rathodsavam is the Antarvedi of Sakhinetipalli Mandal in the same East Godavari district. Devotees flocked to Bhishma Ekadashi on the one hand and the new chariot on the other. After offering yellow saffron near the Gurrakallamma temple, Narasimhaswamy devotees on a new chariot paraded through the ruins amidst Jaya Jaya slogans. Devotees competed to pull the chariot.
A day earlier, a large number of devotees from Telugu states reached Antarvedi. Swami’s wedding was an eye-opener. Minister Venugopalaswamy presented silks to Swami. After that Bhishma celebrated Ekadashi and bathed in the sea in the early morning. Special pujas were performed for Sri Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy and plants were made. Police have set up tight security to prevent any untoward incidents in honor of the Antarvedi chariot festival.
On the other hand, the meal arrangements made by the temple authorities were inadequate due to the influx of devotees beyond expectation. With that, private charities came forward and distributed Annaprasad and fresh water to the devotees.
All the Kshatriyas of Agnikula brought garlands and brought them in procession to Kopanati Krishnamma, who had earlier built the Sri Lakshminarasimhaswamy Temple. Local MLA Chittibabu laid a wreath at the statue of Kopanati Krishnamma set up in the temple premises. Local Chittibabu MLA alleged that the family members of Kopanathi Krishnamma, who donated 15 hundred acres to the Antarvedi temple, have not yet been appointed as a member of the temple trust. MLA Chittibabu said the government would take up the matter and do justice to the Kshatriyas of Agra.
All in all the chariot festivities went smoothly and everything breathed a sigh of relief. The temple authorities and the police are making arrangements for the full moon baths on the 27th of this month as a large number of devotees are flocking to the inner sanctum.
