AP cabinet meet : The Andhra Pradesh state cabinet is scheduled to meet today. The Cabinet meeting will be chaired by Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy at 11 am. The ministers will discuss various key issues, including the Assembly budget meetings, at a meeting to be held at the Secretariat. An agenda of almost 23 items was prepared. The Cabinet will also discuss the demands of the respective departments in the budget meetings to be held in March. So far, CM Jagan has conducted reviews with officials on revenue, expenditure and debt for the 2021-22 financial year. The cabinet will also pass several bills to be introduced in the assembly.
Also, it is reported that the cabinet meeting will also discuss raising the revenue of the state which has been hit hard by the corona crisis. The date of the assembly meetings is also likely to be finalized at the cabinet meeting. With the Assembly budget meetings likely to take place in the third week of next month, it is learned that a final decision will be taken after discussions in the Cabinet.
Announcing that a resolution will be passed in the assembly on the issue of privatization of the Visakhapatnam steel plant, the CM said that it is likely to be discussed during the cabinet meeting as well. Jagan, who has already written a letter to the Prime Minister asking him to reconsider the decision to privatize the Visakhapatnam steel plant, is likely to seek the Center once again through a resolution.
Employees will also have the opportunity to discuss in the Cabinet on the subject of the PRC announcement. Opinions on the PRC have already been received from representatives of various unions. It is being discussed that there are indications that 30 per cent of this will be announced by the PRC. It is expected that this will be discussed at the Cabinet meeting and a final decision will be taken.
The Southern Zonal Council meeting will be held on March 4 in Tirupati. The government has already prepared an agenda for this meeting. The government hopes to address the long-pending issues at the Southern States Conference on the resolution of special status and secession guarantees.
On the other hand, the meeting is likely to review the results of the Gram Panchayat elections. Municipal and corporation elections to be held in March .. Key issues will be discussed along with welfare schemes.
