According to police, Rajesh, 38, of Kovilur village near Muthupet, was on his way home from work on Monday morning when he was chased by three bikes and a car at the Tasmac store. The accused attacked Rajesh at once when he reached the village suburb. He fell from the top of the bike, was attacked with a machete and brutally killed. After this atrocity the killers fled into the nearby forest. Police arrived at the scene to investigate, according to locals. Police who moved the body for postmortem have registered a case and are on high alert for the whereabouts of the killers.
