The ruling Trinamool Congress has announced a new slogan in the forthcoming Assembly elections in Bengal. The campaign will be launched with the slogan ‘Bengal Wants It’s Own Daughter’. This means that the TMC chief, Mamata Banerjee, is to be re-elected. The leaders also called for a fight with ‘outsiders’ (BJP) in the upcoming elections. Mamata is often furious that she has to chase away gangsters coming from outside. She makes this call especially to women in every house she attends. As soon as the party launched the new slogan, Mamata’s nephew, TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee, addressed a rally in Nagrkata, North Bengal. He alleged that some people coming from outside were looking to end the culture of this state. He said that Bengal should have its own daughter and then send outsiders.
Referring to the BJP slogan Jaishriram, he said, “You will be called Jaihind or Jaibangla.” He questioned why the BJP did not blame Jai Sia Ram. This is a testament to their lack of respect for women. They also questioned why they did not mention Sita in their slogan. .
