Petrol and diesel price: Rising petrol and diesel prices across the country are seriously troubling the common man. In many states, the price of a liter of petrol has already crossed the century mark (Rs 100). In some other states, it is approaching Rs 100. Opposition groups called for a boycott of the assembly, citing rising prices. The central government is under intense pressure to reduce excise duty in the wake of record oil prices. If so .. 4 states in the country have reduced taxes on petrol and diesel in the wake of people getting into trouble .. causing a big stir for motorists. However, political analysts say that this is due to the forthcoming elections in the respective states.
Which states have reduced taxes on petrol and diesel?
Petrol and diesel rates have come down sharply in West Bengal, Rajasthan, Assam and Meghalaya. Customers are getting a blanket for around Rs. First, on January 29, the Rajasthan government reduced VAT on petrol and diesel from 38 per cent to 36 per cent. Later, the Mamata Banerjee government announced a one-rupee reduction in VAT on petrol and diesel in West Bengal. On February 12, the Assam state government also waived an additional tax of Rs 5 per liter on petrol and diesel during the corona crisis last year. At the same time, the northeastern state of Meghalaya took a similar decision. The state government has spent Rs. 7.40, Rs. 7.10 decided to reduce. This is the biggest hurdle for consumers. However, it was initially priced at Rs. Reduced at the rate of Rs. VAT on petrol was then reduced from 62 per cent to 42 per cent. VAT on diesel has been reduced from 22.95 per cent to 12 per cent.
This is the Centre’s response to rising prices.
Petrol and diesel prices are on the rise. With that, the central government is coming under intense pressure from the Opposition to reduce the excise duty. But the center is not backing down at all. Strongly determined that there would be no reduction in excise duty. Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan recently said that fuel prices were rising due to declining crude oil production in the international market. Earlier, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said that the rise in oil prices was not under the control of the government. He opined that the central and state governments need to come up with a joint policy to bring down oil prices. Unless one after another is making statements like this .. the central authorities are refusing to reduce the excise duty.

1. In the national capital New Delhi, the price of a liter of petrol is Rs. 90.58, diesel Rs 80.97.
2. In Mumbai, petrol costs Rs 97.00 and diesel Rs 88.06.
3. In Kolkata, petrol costs Rs 91.78 and diesel Rs 84.56.
4. In Chennai, petrol costs Rs 92.59 and diesel Rs 85.98.
5. In Noida, petrol costs Rs 88.92 and diesel Rs 81.41.
6. Petrol in Bangalore is Rs 93.61 and diesel is Rs 85.
7. In Bhopal, petrol costs Rs 98.60 and diesel Rs 89.23.
8. In Chandigarh, petrol costs Rs 87.16 and diesel Rs 80.67.
9. In Patna, petrol costs Rs 92.91 and diesel Rs 86.22.
10. In Lucknow, petrol costs Rs 88.86 and diesel Rs 81.35.
