Araku reunited .. The family who had to go to see Simhachalam’s father .. had an accident in the middle. On the way back from Araku Valley, the brakes failed and the bus crashed into the valley.
The Kottam Satyanarayana family from Sheikhupeta, Hyderabad left on the 10th of this month in a mini bus belonging to Dinesh Travels. Their plan is to visit Vijayawada, Amravati, Kanipakam, Annavaram, Simhachalam and finally Bhadrachalam temples and reach home by Sunday. He had already visited the Indrakeeladri and Annavaram Satyanarayanaswamy temples in Vijayawada.
Stayed at Simhachalam hostel on Thursday night. Went to Araku on Friday morning and had fun in the tourist areas. On the way back from visiting the Borra Caves, the bus crashed into a valley at around 7pm at a turn between Borra and Taida.
The bus overturned at a depth of about 80 feet, killing four people on the spot. Among them are Kottam Satyanarayana, Sarita, Lata .. Chinnari Srinitya. However, a total of 22 people were injured. 9 of them are in critical condition.
Srisailam, the driver, noticed that the bus brakes failed while returning from Araku Valley. They screamed as they were told they were on the bus. It was difficult to control the bus as it was already coming down the Ghat Road. When the number one turn came, it went straight into the valley out of control. The injured were shifted to Eskota in Vijayanagar district immediately after the accident. There he was given first aid and shifted to Vizag KGH.
The district SP and DIG have already reached the fort. Just before reaching the fort .. the bodies of the wounded were drenched in blood. The injuries of even children under the age of ten brought tears to the eyes of those present. Mother Maunika was particularly moved to tears by those who saw her asking them to look after the child Srinitya.
Driver Srisailam says the cause of the accident was the brakes failing. He says he has been running on the ghat roads for ten years. Failing the brakes .. being on the return journey at that time .. he says that the bus crashed into the valley without being controlled.
On the other hand, the passengers on the bus are angry with the driver. Relatives are left here without knowing their apology. They say over the phone that everything was well planned, but that the driver was negligent from the start of the tour.
Jubilee Hills MLA Maganti Gopinath said that the victims will be taken care of in all possible ways. From here we are sending officers to Visakhapatnam. They will review the situation there and submit a report. Maganti said it was a pledge to support the family members of the deceased. Leaders of the Munnurakapu community demanded that the government declare ex-gratia to the families of the deceased. Want to provide better healing for the wounded.
