AP Local body Elections 2021 : In the state of Andhra Pradesh, polling is taking place without holding panchayat elections. From the beginning, it was known that the fight between the State Election Commission and the state government over the conduct of elections was raging. Early panchayat elections are scheduled for February 9 as per the Supreme Court orders. As part of this, the election campaign ended with Ivalli. In addition to the sarpanch candidates, ward members also campaigned extensively in the villages from morning till evening. They wandered the streets and houses asking people to vote for them. Universal efforts were made to please the voters.
In the first phase, notification was issued to conduct elections for 32,502 wards in 3,249 panchayats. Of these, 518 panchayats were unanimous. Polling will be held in 2,731 panchayats on Tuesday. Polling will be held on the 9th of this month from 6.30 am to 3.30 pm. The counting of votes will then take place on the same day and the Sarpanch will be announced. State Election Commission officials, meanwhile, have been busy making arrangements for Tuesday’s election. Arrangements are being made to prepare ballot boxes and move them to polling stations. The second phase of panchayat elections will be held on February 13, the third phase on February 17 and the fourth phase on February 21.
