The Culture Committee of Chamber of Deputies filed a criminal complaint this Tuesday, 3, against the special secretary of Culture, Mario Frias placeholder image, after the fire that hit a shed in the cinematheque on the 29th, in São Paulo. The president of the Commission, deputy Alice Portugal (PCdoB-BA) said that she also asked the Federal Public Ministry for an audit of the Special Secretariat. “We have videos from less than 15 days before the break, technicians and friends from Cinemateca saying there was an imminent risk of a fire. This was all advised to Special Secretariat of Culture, everything was reported by e-mail, by documents, to the Secretariat”, said the parliamentarian. “No decision was taken and the fire happened, to the detriment of a relevant heritage, absolutely indispensable for the preservation of the memory of national cinema”, he added.
