Chanda Kochhar: Former ICICI Bank CMD Chanda Kochhar has been given a seat. Chanda Kochhar granted bail by PMLA court in Mumbai in ICICI-Videocon loan scam case Attending the hearing, she was fined Rs. Bail was granted with a surety of Rs 5 lakh. The court ordered him not to leave the country without permission. A PMLA court in Mumbai on January 30 this year issued summons to Chanda Kochhar, her husband Deepak, Videocon Group promoter Venugopal Dhoot and other accused. She has filed a petition for bail in this regard. The trial court granted bail.
It is learned that QuidProco is facing charges of granting a loan of Rs 3,250 crore to Chanda Kochhar Videocon Group in the ICICI scam. The ED alleges that Rs 64 crore of the Rs 300 crore loan sanctioned by the bank panel headed by Chanda Kochhar to Videocon International Electronics Ltd was transferred to Videocon Industries Nupower Renewables Pvt Ltd (NRPL). The case was registered against her husband Deepak Kochhar under money laundering. The CBI registered the case in 2019 and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) also registered the case in 2020. It is learned that in September 2020, Chanda Kochhar and his wife were arrested.
