Prime Time Zone, Visakhapatnam: VCP parliamentary leader V Vijayasaireddy alleged that TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu was behind the demolition of the idol of Lord Rama at the Ramatirtha temple, a holy shrine in Vijayanagaram district.
Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has alleged that the TDP leaders conspired to divert public attention in the wake of the distribution of house deeds. Unidentified persons who entered the temple at midnight destroyed the idol of Lord Rama and finally found the head part of the idol in the temple pool. On the other hand, arrangements are being made for the re-establishment of the head with representatives of the Chinjiyar Swami Ashram. Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has already reacted strongly to the incident. He warned that harsh measures would be taken if the idols of God were destroyed. Authorities have been directed to take strict action instead of repeating such acts. In this context, the police investigation into the case of assault by thugs is ongoing.
