Covid-19: While the corona epidemic is on the decline in the country, it is booming in Maharashtra. The sudden rise in the number of positive cases in Maharashtra comes at a time when the country as a whole wants to control the corona epidemic. Corona is spreading rapidly in the states of Maharashtra and Kerala, where the highest number of corona cases have been reported from the beginning. The number of cases in Mumbai has increased by 36 per cent in the last three weeks, according to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation officials. The number of cases is said to have increased due to the negligence of the people as well as the opening of local train permits, hotels, malls, etc. BMC Additional Commissioner Suresh said there was an increase in cases from the second week of February. He said that with the easing of corona restrictions, various programs have become more efficient and the situation has worsened due to the absence of symptoms in most of the positive patients.
On the other hand, the increase was 47 per cent in Amravati, 48 per cent in Yavatmal, 33 per cent in Nagpur, 23 per cent in Nashik and 55 per cent in Akola. This brings the total number of positive cases in Maharashtra to 21,00,884 so far. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has said that people should be extra careful in the face of rising corona cases, otherwise a lockdown will have to be imposed in the next two weeks.
