New Delhi: The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has extended the shelf life of the Kovshield vaccine produced by the Serum Institute of India (SII). The vaccine allowed the shelf life to be increased from six months to nine months. This means that the vaccine can be stored or consumed for up to nine months after the production date. This means that the vaccine is fit for use for nine months. DCGI VG Somani wrote a letter to SII saying that the shelf life of the currently unlabeled Vaccine Vials is being allowed to print for nine months. However, the stock batch-wise details should be submitted to the DCGI office and the Central Drugs Lab in Kasauli.
