The construction of Ramalayam in Ayodhya has so far received over Rs 1,000 crore in donations.

Ayodhya Ram temple : The Rama Janmabhoomi Tirtha Trust has said that it will actively collect donations for the construction of the Rama Mandir in Ayodhya. The collection of donations for the construction of Ramalaya started last month. The trust has begun the process of collecting donations from celebrities in person. As part of this, the trust delegation received the first donation from President Rannath Kovind. The trust said it was already setting up committees with prominent people in all districts across the country to collect donations.

The campaign, launched last month, has so far received over Rs 1,000 crore in donations for the construction of the Ramalayam in Ayodhya. During the month, more than Rs 1,000 crore was deposited in the accounts of the Sri Rama Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust in three national banks, said the trust’s secretary Champat Roy. He said people from all countries had generously donated for the construction of the temple. Roy said about 1.50 lakh VHP activists were raising funds for the construction of Ramalaya. He said activists from remote villages were bringing in funds and depositing them in bank accounts. Roy said the fundraising campaign, which began on January 15, has the support of all sections.

Committees were also appointed in towns and villages. As part of the fund-raising drive, arrangements are being made to meet 65 crore devotees from 13 crore families across the country. About 40 lakh people will take part in the campaign led by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. Committees have been set up in 5.25 lakh villages across the country for fund raising and publicity. Five to seven people were appointed as members in all teams. The trust appoints a fund depositor in each of the five panchayats. The amount collected during the week is deposited in the bank on any given day.

For this, Bank of Baroda, SBI, Punjab National Bank and Bank of Baroda Naya Ghat have already opened accounts in Ayodhya. The committee has previously suggested that people make donations online as well. Donation collection will continue uninterrupted for 44 days.
