Prime Time Zone, Features: Many have already cycled from Kashmir to Kanyakumari (K2K). But only a few are creating records in their name on this trip. Adil Teli, a professional cyclist from Kashmir, completed the ‘K to K’ journey in just 8 days, 1 hour and 37 minutes and won the Guinness Book of Records.
Adil, who started his cycling journey in 2014, is one of the best cyclists in Kashmir and is recognized as the best cyclist in the country. To this extent he has won medals in National Level Competitions on behalf of Kashmir as well as Kashmir University. In 2019, he cycled 440 km from Srinagar to Leh in just 26 hours and 30 minutes, setting a new record. It was in this context that Adil started his journey from the Clock Tower at Lal Chowk in Srinagar to Kashmir on March 22, 2021 at 7 am and completed the 3600 km journey on April 30. 17-year-old Om Mahajan achieved the feat in 8 days 7 hours 38 minutes, while Adil recently broke that record. Responding to this, Adil said, “I am very happy to have created a Guinness World Record. My thanks to my sponsors as well as those who encouraged me, the staff and the people of Kashmir. Thanks to their support and best wishes, I have become a Guinness World Record holder today. ‘
