Municipal Corporation General Elections: 21 municipal elections will be held this month in six cities in the state of Gujarat. Against this backdrop, the opposition Congress party showered assurances on the voters. It said it would set up free Wi-Fi zones in the respective cities and provide parking facilities for vehicles. In addition, Congress has announced that it will also provide concessions on property taxes. To this end, Gujarat Congress chief Amit Chawda on Thursday released the Congress manifesto. Speaking on the occasion, Chawda criticized the BJP for being in power in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Jamnagar and Bhavnagar.
If they come to power, they will set up air purifiers to prevent pollution on city roads, the Congress manifesto said. The congressional manifesto states that traders will be given tax breaks during the corona lockdown. It also revealed that free WiFi zones and free parking zones will be set up in the cities. The congressional manifesto explained that the municipality would provide free education to English medium students in schools. It said it would abolish the contract system and make all workers permanent.
