Gujarat Civic Polls Results: BJP wins Gujarat Corporation elections. In the elections held in Gujarat on the 21st of this month, six municipal corporations were not able to win back. Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Jamnagar and Bhavnagar corporations won 483 seats out of a total of 576 seats. The Congress won 55 seats, the Opposition 27 seats, the others 10 seats and the Independent candidate one seat. On the 21st of this month, elections were held for 192 seats in Ahmedabad, 72 in Rajkot, 64 in Jamnagar, 52 in Bhavnagar, 76 in Vadodara and 120 in Surat.
Once again the BJP has proved its strength by not taking over six corporations. However, the Congress did not win a single seat in Surat. However, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy CM Nitin Patel thanked the voters in their respective corporations for giving them a huge victory. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also described the results as “special” and thanked the voters.
