Luis Macedo / Chamber of DeputiesLira participated in a dinner promoted by Febraban this Thursday, 25

The President of Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), met, this Thursday, with representatives of the banking sector, to present the voting schedule of the reforms that are being processed in Congress. At the dinner promoted by the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban), Lira said that administrative reform must be approved by the Chamber and delivered to the Senate in two months and again stipulated a period of six to eight months for the processing of the tax reform completed.

“We expect that until next week the Senate will be able to send the PEC of the Federative Pact and the PEC Emergency to the Chamber. Next week, we, from the Chamber, will install the CCJ and the administrative reform is there. If the Senate orders [as duas PECs] next week, in a maximum of 10 or 15 days, we will deliver the federative Pact and and PEC Emergency. The administrative reform will follow the rite of the House, because it is in the CCJ. In two months we deliver the administrative reform to the Senate. And there with a month must be approved, because the procedure is more simplified. In three months, in the first quarter of the inauguration of the presidents of the Chamber and Senate, we are able to deliver the administrative reform in a very symbolic way, because it will demonstrate the will of Parliament to give signs, cut expenses, forecast lower expenses by part of the government. Tax reform will have a more technical and refined discussion because it has more striking effects on the economy, but it also holds a range of concerns that need to be clarified. We will deal in a period of six to eight months, it is the schedule established between the presidents of the Chamber and the Senate, with the support of the leaders and the deputies and senators who want to reform and unlock the investment sector in Brazil ” , said.

Lira also stated that the relationship with the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, is “good” and “respectful”. “It is a relationship in the same pattern that we deal with the Executive. We have a harmonious, independent relationship, without much friction, in the political gestures necessary for democracy to function fully. The relationship is good, respectful, each one in his own business, having the perception that [o ministro] you have to know the limitations and the situations that the policy needs so that the materials that are sent there can perform and deliver to Brazil ”, he explained.
