INDIA VS ENGLAND 2021: India make three changes in the second Test against England. Placed three players in the final squad. Akshar Patel was named in the final squad to replace Washington Sundar, who failed to hit the ball with the bat in the first Test. He has been making his Test debut for seven years after entering first-class cricket. With this, Akshar Patel made his debut as the 302nd Test player for India.
On the other hand, Nadeem, who failed miserably in the first Test, was replaced by wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav. Though he thought he would get a chance in the first Test, it did not happen due to unforeseen reasons. TeamIndia was exceptionally shocked to take Nadeem. It was against this backdrop that the team ownership finally gave Kuldeep Yadav a chance. Two years later Kuldeep earned a place in the team. Leading pacer Jaspreet Bumra was rested for the match with the idea that the workload would be too much. Captain Kohli said that he has been replaced by Mohammad Siraj, who was dropped during the tour of Australia.
