Prime Time Zone, Cantonment: Leading actress and producer Lakshmi Manchu said that she fulfilled her dream by riding a 100 km bicycle for the first time. The Aditya Mehta Foundation (AMF) has launched a cycle ride to raise funds for para-athletes. The ride was flagged off by Telangana IT Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan at 5.00 am on Sunday at the Infinity Para Sports Academy, Rehabilitation Center at Rasool Pura in Hyderabad. The participants went to Tupran from there and reached the academy at 11.30 am and completed the 100 km cycle ride. She received a memorable welcome from para-athletes at AMF. She was accompanied by an Indian para cycling team and other cyclists.

Manchu Lakshmi has dreamed of riding a 100 km bicycle under the tutelage of UCI (Union Cyclist International) certified cycling coach Aditya Mehta. Every day for a month at 5.00 am she covered a journey of 30 to 50 km without a break and took rigorous training so that she was equipped with the speed and strength needed to ride on balanced, sloping and high hill areas. Lakshmi not only has a sensitive mindset but also works tirelessly for the welfare of paralyzed athletes. For some years she has been working for the well-being of para-athletes, to build confidence in them. ‘We have decided to raise Rs 5 lakh through this trip and have already raised Rs. Aditya Mehta said that up to Rs 7 lakh has been collected and is still being raised.
