More 2,706 infections and four deaths from covid-19 – ZAP

Portugal registered, this Tuesday, 2,706 new cases and four deaths following the infection by covid-19, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).

According to the latest bulletin from the Directorate-General for Health, Portugal recorded, in the last 24 hours, 2,706 new cases positives of covid-19 and four deaths.

The region of Lisbon and Tagus Valley leads the number of new cases with 1,196 infections. The North follows with 953 cases in the last 24 hours, the Center region with 219, the Algarve with 199, the Alentejo with 77, Madeira with 39 and the Azores with 23.

Of the four deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, two occurred in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region, one in the Algarve and one in the North.

This Tuesday, there are 854 hospitalized people in the country with covid-19 (three more than on Monday). In intensive care units (ICU) fewer four patients are hospitalized, out of a total of 177.

In the last 24 hours, 4,451 people have recovered from the disease. Portugal currently has 50,487 active cases, 1,749 less than the day before.

In the so-called risk matrix, at national level, Portugal has an incidence of 14 days of 391.0 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and a transmissibility index R

On the continent, the incidence is now at 403.0 cases of infection and the transmissibility index R
