A new podcast with a conversation between former US President Barack Obama and singer Bruce Springsteen was released on Monday (22) on Spotify. Two episodes are now available on the audio platform.

Renegades: Born in the USA, which will have eight episodes in total, marks the entry of these two personalities in the world of podcasts, where until then they had only made some special appearances.
“On the surface, Bruce and I don’t have much in common,” said Obama. “He’s a white guy from a small town in New Jersey. I’m a black, half-breed guy, born in Hawaii. He’s a rock icon. I’m … not that cool,” he added.
The two met during Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign and have since become friends.
Recently, they met for a few days in New Jersey to record the program, which is a reflection on the situation in the United States and possible ways to unite a divided country.
“What we discovered during these conversations is that we still share a fundamental belief in the American ideal, not as a feeling of nostalgia, but as a compass for the hard work that lies ahead,” said the 59-year-old former president.
Through the dialogue, which was partly filmed, “we found some answers, learned a few things, laughed and had a few drinks,” he added.
Thus, Obama follows the model of his wife, Michelle, whose podcast was one of the great successes of last year, including a program with the participation of her husband.
In December, Spotify also announced a partnership with Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, who will produce a series of podcasts for the platform.
