The actor Orlando Drummond, “Seu Peru” from Professor Raimundo’s Escolinha, passed away this Tuesday night, 27. He had been hospitalized for two months at the Quinta D’Or hospital, in Rio de Janeiro, according to information from the newspaper O Globo. The initial reason for going to the hospital was a urinary infection, but the cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
It is interesting to remember that Drummond won the role in the attraction led by Chico Anysio by chance, since the character was destined for another actor. At the last minute, “Plan A” gave up fearing the negative repercussion of the character.
Due to his advanced age, the actor was one of the first to be vaccinated in Rio de Janeiro and received the second dose of the vaccine at home, as reported by G1.
In addition to acting, Orlando also made a career as a voice actor. In his career, he gave voice to famous characters such as Scooby Doo, Alf, Popeye and Avenger.
At 101 years old, Orlando Drummond Cardoso leaves behind two children, five grandchildren — three of whom are also voice actors — and three great-grandchildren.
