This Saturday Portugal records 2,856 new cases of infection and 149 deaths, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).
According to the epidemiological bulletin released by the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), in the last 24 hours, 2,856 new cases of infection and 149 deaths, both of which are very similar to what was recorded on Friday.
Of these 2,856 new cases, 1,440 were recorded in the region of Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, followed by the North (plus 677), Centro (490), Alentejo (113), Algarve (70), Madeira (61) and the Azores ( 5).
Hospitalizations fell, with 380 fewer hospitalized people (a total of 4,850) and 43 fewer in Intensive Care Units (out of a total of 803).
Regarding the number of deaths, most were registered in the region of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo with over 80, followed by the Center (25), North (21), Alentejo (12) and Algarve (11). The archipelagos of Madeira and the Azores have not recorded any deaths in the last 24 hours.
It is the fourth consecutive day with less than 200 deaths, something that has not happened since mid-January.
The DGS bulletin also states that 8,786 people recovered from the disease, in a total of 661,525 recovered. There are 6,079 fewer active cases, totaling 107,371m, and 6,478 fewer surveillance contacts, totaling 143,173.
Until Saturday, Portugal registered 784,079 cases of infection since the beginning of the pandemic and a total of 15,183 deaths.
