The Minister of National Defense, João Gomes Cravinho
PSD deputies Ana Miguel dos Santos and Carlos Reis submitted to the Assembly of the Republic a request to request a copy of the report of the General Inspection of National Defense on the costs associated with the requalification of the former Military Hospital of Belém.
According to this Thursday’s report, TSF, this request follows a oral request, filed by both. So far, the content of the report is known only to the Minister of Defense, Gomes Cravinho.
In February, the minister’s office told the TSF that the document had been sent to the Court of Auditors. At that time, a court source assured that he had not filed and, last week, the Daily News came up with the same information.
At the last hearing in parliament, Gomes Cravinho stated: “One thing is a deviation, another is a slippage. It cost three times more, but it is a more complete work than had been thought ”.
Meanwhile, Vasco Hilário was appointed to lead the Directorate-General for National Defense Resources, replacing Alberto Coelho.
“It’s needed a new look and approaches. This implies changes in people and structures. There is no exemption here. The replacement is related to the conclusion that we need new procedures and a new organic to answer some problems ”, said the minister on the subject during the last hearing in the National Defense Commission.
