Regional Ring Road: The Central Government has given good news to the people of Telangana. The Central Government has approved the construction of a regional ring road in the state. This was stated by Union Transport Minister Nitin Gatkari, Lok Sabha party leader Nama Nageswara Rao said in a statement. MPs Badugula Lingaya Yadav and Manne Srinivas Reddy met Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in Delhi on Friday seeking permission for pending projects. The Union Minister responded positively on the occasion.
Nama Nageshwar briefed the Union Minister on the proposed 254 km RRR around Hyderabad. He recalled that Chief Minister KCR had also written a letter to the Center in several installments for the Regional Ring Road. He said if the road is completed, Hyderabad will be on a path of further development and further development industrially. The Chief Minister said that the RRR was designed with foresight in mind. In 2017, the first phase of the national highway from Sangareddy to Chautaupal via Tupran was renamed NH161AA. He said the Center had given gazette notification to build it up to 166 km.
Nama said reports have been submitted to the Union Ministry of Roads and Transport to give notification recognizing the 182-km road project to be constructed up to Kandi via Chautaupal-Shadnagar in the second phase as a national highway. CM Nageswara Rao told the minister that CM KCR had assured that 50 per cent of the cost of construction of the road would be borne by the state government.
He said the importance of national highway connectivity in the Nagpur-Hyderabad-Bangalore corridor and Pune-Hyderabad-Vijayawada corridor would increase. He also said that this road would be very useful for the smooth flow of traffic around Hyderabad.
