Politics on Regional Ring Road: The politics of Telangana is becoming bigger day by day. Road politics have begun in the wake of the recent elections for two graduate MLC constituencies. The same ring road politics is in full swing. Attempts to claim the Regional Ring Road glory, which is crucial for the future of Telangana, have slowly begun. Although the mention of the Regional Ring Road has not yet appeared in the MLC election campaign, recent developments have signaled that efforts are underway to turn it into an election weapon.
Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, already has two ring roads. One of these is currently an integral part of city roads. The other is also approaching the city in several places in city expansion. The city has already been extended to the ring road on national highways. With that, the government felt that the city needed another big ring road. In fact, the mention of the regional ring road came ten years ago .. After the formation of Telangana KCR government increased its mention. Efforts have also gained momentum.
Regional ring road proposals with a range of about 50 km to the metropolis have been formulated. On the north side of the metropolis, Sangareddy-Chautaupal via Narsapur, Tupran, Gajwel, Jagdevpur and Bhubaneswar are planned. Its construction is estimated to cost around Rs 10,000 crore. The state government has asked the Center to identify it as a national highway. The Chief Minister reported the matter to the KCR Center every time he went to Delhi.
At the same time, Telangana BJP leaders have on several occasions asked Union Surface Roads and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari to mark the Sangareddy-Chautaupal Regional Ring Road, which is being constructed north of the Hyderabad metropolis, as a national highway. If it is an attempt of the state government .. If it is an initiative of the BJP leaders, the Center has identified the northern part of the Regional Ring Road as a national highway. Orders to this effect were issued in 2017 itself. National Highway 161AA (NH-161AA) was also assigned at the time.
Meanwhile, TRS MPs and BJP leaders have demanded that the southern part of the Regional Ring Road from Chautaupal to Sangareddy (Kandi) in the southern part of Hyderabad be identified as a national highway. The construction of the Southern Regional Ring Road to Chautaupal (National Highway 65), Shad Nagar (National Highway 44) and Sangareddy (National Highway 65) is estimated to cost Rs 6,481 crore. It needs to be notified as a national highway. The initial estimate is that the construction of a regional ring road around the Hyderabad metropolis will cost a total of Rs 17,000 crore (over Rs 10,000 crore for the northern part + Rs 6,481 crore for the southern part). However, TRS leaders are questioning whether the central government, which has sanctioned the entire ring road as a unit, has yet to recognize the southern part as a national highway. They are blaming the center for this. With that, the regional ring road affair is becoming a topic of MLC elections.

Kamal Nath pushed the ball into the court of the state government in a similar order. Kishan Reddy told mediapersons that Union Minister Gadkari had told him that if the Telangana government did land acquisition, the project would be completed in three years. So that R.R.R. The Regional Ring Road is located in the area where the graduate elections are currently being held.
