Republic Day violence: Delhi Crime Branch police have arrested 29-year-old Jaspreet Singh, who was involved in the violence that erupted in Delhi on the 26th of this month on the occasion of Republic Day. Police found that Jaspreet Singh had climbed the Red Fort tower during the agitation. He also grabbed an iron bar at Redport and posed for the camera. He was found staying in Swaroop Nagar, Delhi.
Last week, a special unit of the Delhi Police arrested Maninder Singh, who is said to be the most wanted person in the violence at the Red Fort. Police also seized 4.3 feet of knives from his house in Swaroop Nagar.
A video of him swinging a long sword at the Red Fort was also found on his mobile phone. Actor and activist Deep Sidhu was also arrested in the same case on September 9. Police say Sidhu was one of the perpetrators of the January 26 violence.
