A fatal road accident has taken place in Bihar. Eight people were killed in a car-auto collision.
Road Accident in Bihar: A serious road accident took place in Bihar. Eight people were killed when a speeding lorry collided with an auto. The accident took place when a car carrying 10 people collided with a truck on National Highway 31 near Kurshela in Katihar district, police said.
According to police, the ten-member band left Purnia in an auto. As Kurshela approached, an oncoming truck and auto collided head-on. Three died on the spot in the accident while another died on the way to the hospital. The other four died at the hospital after battling serious injuries, police said. Two others sustained injuries.
Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and seized the truck. The driver of the car fled after the incident, police official Amar Kant said. The deceased have been identified as Arjun Mochi (50), Kishore Paswan (45), Dharmendra Kumar Mandal (50), Sushil Kumar Mochi (30) and Chotelal Ram (42), Dr Anupam Alok of Katihar Community Hospital said. They all belonged to the village of Mazdiha.
