With the key leaders stepping into the ring, the suspense over who would win began. Surabhi Vani Devi, daughter of the late Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao, entered the ring on behalf of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi, giving a chance to senior Congress leader and former minister G. Chinnareddy. BJP leader who has been representing Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar constituency as MLC for the last six years. Ramachandra Rao is once again testing his luck. Prof. who had previously served as Osari MLC. Nageshwar once again entered the field with the support of the Left. Harshavardhan Reddy and TRLD leader Kapilavai Dilip Kumar are contesting as Congress rebel candidates. The fate of the candidates in the fray for the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad Graduate MLC post will be known on March 14. The results will be announced on March 17, when polling will take place on that day. With the acceptance of nominations already over, the longer candidates are focused on the campaign.

5. Proc. Nageshwar – Candidate backed by Left parties.
6. Harshavardhan Reddy – Congress Rebel.

On the other hand, key candidates are vying for the Khammam-Nallagonda-Warangal seat. Senior leader from the ruling party, sitting MLC Palla Rajshwar Reddy is contesting while former MLC Ramulu Nayak from the Congress and Premender Reddy from the BJP are contesting. Kodandaram Reddy entered the contest from Telangana Jana Samiti. Former news presenter and young Telangana party leader Rani Rudramadevi, along with two other media personalities, are in the fray for the MLC polls. Media-minded teenagers Mallanna and Jayasaradhi Reddy are contesting from Khammam-Nallagonda-Warangal constituency. Of these, the Left declared support for Jayasaradhi. Telangana Home Party leader Cheruku Sudhakar is contesting.

With seven years to go since the formation of Telangana, the Opposition has started trying to appease the graduates with the premise that the job placements have not taken place as the youth wanted. However, TRS candidates say that they have made Telangana the top state in the country in six and a half years.
