Prime Time Zone, Kamareddy: Former minister Shabbir Ali has criticized the state government for misleading the people by introducing a budget that is purely digit juggling. Eddewa said it was designed to wander in illusions contrary to reality. To this end he released a statement on Friday. He said it was ridiculous for the TRS government to propose in the budget that it would spend over Rs 2.32 lakh crore. He said the new taxes on the common man and middle class were likely to fetch Rs 30,225 crore. He demanded that Rs 38,669.46 crore in the form of grant-in-aid and another Rs 49,300 crore from the state government was not clarified. He said there was no clarity in the budget on revenue sources, revenue and expenditure.
He also criticized the state government for not being able to show such conditions that a fair policy is being implemented for the maintenance of a normal family. No house can survive long by borrowing heavily at high interest rates. No state has made progress by pushing its people into a huge debt trap. The state of Telangana is already paying nearly Rs 10,000 crore in the form of loan installments and interest. It has been criticized that double bedroom houses are not included in the budget. He recalled that ministers KTR and Talsani Srinivas Yadav had made false statements that one lakh double bedroom houses had been built in Hyderabad alone. The budget does not say what will be done for the Hyderabad metropolis. He criticized the TRS government for cheating the government by saying that it would spend Rs 2,000 crore on the welfare of minorities, at least 50 per cent of which was not spent. They demanded that 100 per cent of the funds allocated for the welfare of minorities, SCs, STs and BCs be spent.
