Prime Time Zone, Webdesk: The UGC Net (December-2020) notification, which is conducted twice a year, has been issued for Lecturership (Assistant Professor) and Junior Research Fellowships in various universities across the country.

– The National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of UGC will conduct the UGC NET test online at 224 centers in May for a total of 101 departments across the country.
Eligibility: Must have passed the relevant Master’s Degree from a recognized University with at least 55% marks. For SC / ST / OBC / Divyangs 50% marks will suffice. Candidates studying PG final year can also apply.
Age Limit: There is no maximum age limit for those who write the exam for the lecturer. However, the age limit for Junior Research Fellowship should not exceed 31 years (as on 1 March 2021). For reservation candidates (SC / ST / OBC, etc.) there will be relaxation to the age limit of iden- tities.
Application fee: General candidates Rs.1000, OBC candidates Rs.500, SC / ST / Divyangs Rs.250

How the exam will be: The exam consists of a total of two papers (Paper 1 & Paper 2). The examination will be conducted for 300 marks in two papers combined.
Paper 1 asks 50 questions for 100 marks. Each question consists of two marks on Teaching (Teaching, Research), Research Aptitude (Logical Ability, Comprehension, Different Thought, General Understanding). The test time is 60 minutes.
Paper-2 will have 100 questions for 200 marks. Each question will have 100 questions from the respective optional subjects at the rate of two marks.
