Statehood at the right time for Jammu and Kashmir..Amit Shah
New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has addressed the Lok Sabha on the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Bill. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “We will restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir at the right time.” He said he had no doubts about the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. The Home Minister clarified that many MPs were expressing doubts that the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Bill 2021 was a bill denying the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, but it was not true.
Amit Shah questioned where the bill was that Jammu and Kashmir did not want statehood. He questioned how the MPs had come to a decision without such a thing in the bill. He said he had said in the past that Jammu and Kashmir would return to statehood at the right time and that he was making it clear once again at the meeting. Amit Shah said the current bill was for the reconstruction of the area and had nothing to do with the bill or the state status.
However, as soon as the bill was introduced in the House, the Congress party chanted slogans against it. Congress Lok Sabha leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has criticized the government for not fulfilling any of the promises made to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of the repeal of Article 370. He criticized the government for completely failing to implement its promise to deport pundits and provide jobs to the youth.
Afterwards, Amit Shah, who spoke, refuted the Congress criticism. Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the allegations made by the Congress MPs were malicious and that statehood would be accorded to Jammu and Kashmir in due course. After a long debate, the Lok Sabha approved the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Bill 2021.
