Counting of votes for a while, and then revealing the results

Amravati: The second phase of polling for the panchayat elections in AP has come to an end. Polling began at 6.30am and ended at 3.30pm. In the second tranche, polling was held for 2,786 sarpanch seats and 20,817 ward member seats in 167 constituencies under 18 revenue divisions.

Elections ended in a peaceful atmosphere except for clashes in some areas. As of 2.30pm, 76.11 per cent voting was recorded, officials said. Statistics show that voters are flocking to the polls in large numbers, just like in the first installment. Counting of votes will take place in Marikaset. And then the results are announced.
