Police arrest at Pitampura bus stop in Delhi
New Delhi: A man has been arrested by the Delhi Special Cell for stabbing a man during a Republic Day tractor rally violence at the Red Fort. On January 26, a video of Maninder Singh alias Moni (30) wielding a sword went viral at the Red Fort. The police declared him ‘Most Wanted’. Police said he was detained at the Pitampura bus stop while on his way to escape. Two swords were seized from his house in Swaroop Nagar.
Maninder Singh, on the other hand, said he used to go to the Singhu border every day where farmers were worried. He said he was inspired by the speeches of farmer leaders. He revealed that he had gathered five others near his house for the tractor rally and had brought along two swords at that time. Together with them Singhu said their team followed on bikes from the borders to Mukarba Chowk. He explained that he had reached the Red Fort as per the plan. Police say the accused also had a video of him wielding a sword on his phone. In addition, he said he was teaching swordsmanship to many at his home.
