The state government has no stake in the steel plant
New Delhi: It is a known fact that all parties in the state (except BJP) have raised concerns that the Visakhapatnam steel plant should not be privatized. Viceroyalty leaders are announcing that they will pass a resolution in the state assembly against privatization. The Central Government, on the other hand, has made a clear statement as a parliamentary witness on the matter. Steel plant privatization is inevitable.
Responding to a question in the Lok Sabha by Vice-Chancellor MPs Goddeti Madhavi and MVV Satyanarayana, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman clarified that the state government has no stake in the steel plant. Sensational announcement that we are withdrawing 100 per cent investment from this plant. He said the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs had taken a decision on January 27 regarding the withdrawal of investment. Although the state government has no stake in the plant, it said it had consulted on the issues and sought the cooperation of the state government.
