Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad, Gujarat

Ahmedabad: President Ram Nath Kovind today inaugurated the Sardar Patel (Motera) Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, through a virtual approach. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Sports Minister Kiran Rijiju and Gujarat Deputy CM Nitin Patel were present on the occasion. It is learned that the stadium in Ahmedabad has been renovated. With a capacity of tens of thousands, it holds the record for being the largest stadium in the world.

The Motera Stadium, built at a cost of Rs 800 crore, will have a seating capacity of over one lakh. The first international match between India and England will be played at this stadium. The third Test between the two countries is set to begin tonight. The match will be played with a pink ball.
