Gadwala Vijayalakshmi, daughter of TRS Rajya Sabha leader K Keshavarao, has been appointed mayor and Tarnaka corporator Mote Srilatha Shobhanreddy has been appointed deputy mayor. However, the ruling party TRS MIM has offered to take over as deputy mayor. Rejecting the offer, the MIM backed the TRS party leader by giving him the opportunity to become mayor and deputy mayor.
