The Government will be able to establish different rules for students and workers regarding the exits from the country, the right to emigrate and international circulation, according to a decree published this Friday, which renews the state of emergency for another 15 days.

According to ECO, which mentions the diploma of the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, in view of the pandemic situation, may be created border controls of people and goods, aiming to prevent the entry or exit in or from the national territory.

In addition, through this measure it is possible to make entry or exit conditional on compliance with the necessary conditions, thus reducing the risk of dissemination of covid-19.

The novelty in relation to the previous decree signed is that the Government may establish different rules “for certain categories of citizens, namely for reasons professional or teaching, such as Erasmus students ”.

In the border control between Spain and Portugal, a greater degree of flexibility was already foreseen for students.
