In the UK, 30 cases of thrombotic events have been reported in people vaccinated with the co-vaccine against Covid-19 Astrazeneca and Oxford University. In total, 18.1 million doses of the vaccine produced by this company have been administered in the country.
The announcement was made on Thursday by Britain’s top regulator. The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency also said they had not seen similar incidents with the Pfizer and Biontech co-vaccines. The agency reiterates that the benefits of the vaccine far outweigh its potential safety risks, even if these are risks of developing a blood clot.
