While the State recorded 89.9% occupancy rate, Greater São Paulo had 89% occupied ICUs; there are 12,941 people in intensive care right now
The most recent health indicators in the State of Sao Paulo, presented on Wednesday, 7, at a press conference at Palácio dos Bandeirantes, showed that the occupancy rate of UTI in the state it is 89.9% and in Greater São Paulo it is 89%. “Despite everything we have seen, we are reaping the fruits of what was done in the red phase, in the emergency phase, and today, after 21 days in which we had an occupancy rate above 90%,” said the Secretary of Health of State, Jean Gorinchteyn. He recalled that, in the last week, the average occupancy rate of ICU beds was 92%. While 12,941 people occupy ICU beds, 16,171 are in nursing beds.
The current isolation rate of the state, in an emergency phase and with restricted operation of shops, bars and restaurants until April 11, is 46%. Also according to state data, the number of cases in this epidemiological week compared to the previous week fell 2.4% and that of hospitalizations, 5.4%, while the number of deaths increased by 15.5%. São Paulo has 2,576,362 cases and 79,443 deaths caused by Covid-19 so far. In the most populous state in Brazil, 5.1 million people received the first dose of immunizers and 1.8 million received the vaccine booster.
