Maintenance of the more expensive tariff, which generates a charge of R$ 9,492 for every 100 kWh consumed, is a reflection of the low level of the country’s reservoirs
A National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) will keep red flag 2 of energy, the most expensive rate in force in the Brazil from June to the month of August. The announcement was made this Friday, 30, and means that for another month consumers will receive an additional charge of R$ 9,492 for every 100 kWh consumed at home. The maintenance of the more expensive tariff reflects the low level of the reservoirs. According to a press release from the Agency, the situation in the country remains critical. “August starts with an equal hydrological perspective [de julho], with the main SIN reservoirs at considerably low levels for this time of year”, says the company’s position.
