In an interview with Panico, a congressman considered that a request for overthrow is being submitted in the Senate; “At the Supreme Court, the minister showed the worst in human beings: arrogance,” he said.
Last week, the senator Jorge Kajuru (Cidadania-GO) met with the president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (Democtratas), and two other senators, to articulate the impeachment request filed at the House against Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF). In addition to the request, Pacheco received a petition with more than 3 million signatures demanding the overthrow of Moraes. In an interview with the Pânico program, Young pan, this Tuesday, 30, Kajuru said that the request for withdrawal is well underway in the Senate. “If the impeachment of a nefarious minister like Alexandre de Moraes failing to pass, it will be exclusively due to the stuck tail. There are senators who are afraid because ministers openly threaten them with openings for investigations in the Court. It is boring to say that, but it is the truth. Either we show the country that we are not afraid and our tail is stuck, or the request will go nowhere. If we approve the impeachment, the Senate will recover its image, respect and credibility ”, he said.
The senator also explained the reasons that, according to him, justify and make possible the removal of Moraes. “In the impeachment request that I filed, we gathered the complaints made while Alexandre de Moraes worked at the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat and then went through his failures in front of the Ministry of Justice, during the government of Michel Temer. Finally, we arrived at his role as minister of the STF, where he presented the worst in a human being: arrogance. He took disastrous attitudes in the Court, he always followed Gilmar Mendes’ votes – which are absurdly criticized throughout the country. Furthermore, he disrespected the Constitution when he wanted to close media outlets and ordered the arrest of a federal deputy – breaking the inviolable right to freedom of expression, and when he voted in favor of the re-election of the presidents of the Chamber e do Senate. ” Despite articulating Moraes’ departure, Kajuru considers that Minister Gilmar Mendes “deserves” to be impeached before. “For the way he behaves, Moraes has long been deserving of impeachment. Before him, Gilmar should leave, and then Lewandowski. These are the worst. ” If Pacheco continues Kajuru’s request and orders the overthrow of Moraes in the Senate, the Supreme Court may experience the first impeachment of a minister in his entire history.
