The number of Covid-19 vaccines shared by the United States with other countries will increase to 80 million in the next few weeks. This is 5 times more than the aid provided by any other country.
US President Joe Biden says he will increase doses of $ 20 million in aid over the next month and a half to countries that are unable to deal with the pandemic on their own. His desire is for America to become a world leader in charity with Covid-19 vaccines.
“Russia and China … have shared 15 million doses with others. You know, there is a lot of talk about Russia and China trying to influence the world through vaccines. Said President Joe Biden at the White House on May 17.
He said that in order to get out of the pandemic, humanity must be guided by democracy. However, the US President noted that the United States “will not use vaccines for gratitude from other countries.”
The additional 20 million doses that President Biden spoke of include Covid-19 vaccines for Pfizer-Biontech, Moderna and Astrazeneka. So far, America has promised the rest of the world 60 million doses of the vaccine produced by Astrazeneka. The latter is not yet authorized for use in the United States, although the vaccine was pre-ordered for the company.
