Part of the funds will go to Acre and municipalities affected by rains and the overflow of rivers
The president Jair Bolsonaro signed this Monday, 22, a provisional measure opening extraordinary credit of R $ 450 million to assist state governments and city halls that declare public calamity because of the rains. THE MP 1030 was published in an extra edition of Official Diary of the Union and has already taken effect. Next to the senator Marcio Bittar (MDB-AC) and the Chief Minister of the Government Secretariat, Luiz Eduardo Ramos, Bolsonaro affirmed that part of the resources goes to the Acre and municipalities affected by rain and overflowing rivers. In the Northern State, at least 150,000 people were affected by the storms. In addition to bad weather, the region suffers, at the same time, with the advance of dengue, gives Covid-19 and a migratory crisis on the border.
“Remembered by Senator Bittar, from Acre, of the problems that the State is going through, as we had not yet approved the Budget (of 2021), we are lacking resources to assist the State in this issue of public calamity”, said Bolsonaro, in a video published by Minister Luiz Eduardo Ramos, from the Secretariat of Government, on his Twitter account. The extraordinary credit of R $ 450 million was released in favor of the Ministry of Regional Development. The president also stated that he will travel to Acre, next Wednesday, the 24th. Bolsonaro is expected to fly over areas where floods occurred because of overflowing rivers.

Bittar is rapporteur for the 2021 Budget in Congress and also for the Proposed Amendment to the Constitution (PEC) known as Emergency PEC. A draft of the senator’s opinion for the proposal that contemplates a new round of emergency assistance to the informal and unemployed was received with criticism by colleagues for predicting the revocation of the constitutional floor of spending on health and education.
