To meet the demands of truckers, O federal government launches this Tuesday, the 18th, the program that is being called “Giants of Asphalt”. Category representatives were invited to the event, scheduled to take place at the Planalto Palace. One of the major complaints is that financing ends up being directed to companies. Therefore, the expectation is that the proposal can benefit the self-employed, with credit lines and repurchase for those who work alone. The president of the Brazilian Association of Motor Vehicle Drivers, Wallace Chorão, explained that the program is expected to bring concrete benefits. “One thing that makes me very happy is also the financing credit related to the BNDES. An example that we received and did not take is that R $ 100 thousand for maintenance. I am sure that the category will now be able to take advantage of this through the BNDES and these actions. ”

The package must create a voucher to try to mitigate the frequent variation in the values of the diesel. Truck drivers complain that the increase in diesel is one of the biggest problems for the sector, since the fuel would be responsible for about 40% of the costs. The president Jair Bolsonaro he defended the class on several occasions, complaining, for example, about the excess of radars on Brazilian roads, announcing the end of import tariffs on tires and also requiring the Minister of Infrastructure, Tarcísio Freitas, to revise the axle weighing standard for trucks. Truck drivers also expect the federal government to respond to another claim, which is to vaccinate the category against Covid-19.
