The president Jair Bolsonaro (without a party) said that the vaccine against Covid-19 Sputnik V may be manufactured in Brazil if approved by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa). The information was released by the president himself through his profile on a social network on the afternoon of this Tuesday, 6, when Bolsonaro published a video made after a meeting with the president of the Russia, Vladimir Putin, to deal with the acquisition of the vaccine. Next to the president were the Minister of Health, Marcelo Queiroga, and CEO of Anvisa, Antônio Barra Torres. “Of course, we still depend on resolving some obstacles here in Brazil and we are in contact with the other authorities, including Anvisa, on how we can effectively import this vaccine,” said Bolsonaro, who added: “We hope, if the approval is approved, Sputnik vaccine, that we may produce it in Brazil ”.

Then, Antonio Barra Torres confirmed a health surveillance mission that will go to Russia to inspect Sputnik V’s own input production facilities. Finally, Queiroga classified the meeting as a “high-level summit” and reaffirmed that , when regulatory issues are resolved, the vaccine will be applied in Brazil. “High-level summit, where the issue of the Sputnik vaccine was discussed.
