Data were released by the Ministry of Health on Monday night, 11; Deaths approach 204 million and there are already more than 8.1 million registered cases
With 25 thousand new confirmed cases and 480 deaths in the last 24 hours, Brazil reached this Monday, 11, the mark of 203,580 deaths by Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic. In all, according to data from the Ministry of Health, 8,131,612 cases have been confirmed since March. Of these, 7,207,483 are considered recovered and 720,549 are being monitored. The state with the highest number of deaths is São Paulo, which is also the most populous in the country. In all, 48.3 thousand residents died and more than 1.5 million were contaminated. The highest mortality rate, however, is in the state of Rio de Janeiro, which has 155.1 per 100 thousand inhabitants.
The country is approaching 204 thousand deaths by Covid-19 on the day that João Doria says he is waiting for “sense and compassion” from the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) to release the application of CoronaVac, developed by the Butantan Institute with Chinese technology. The governor of São Paulo has not ruled out that vaccination in the state, scheduled for January 25, the capital’s anniversary day, be started earlier if the release is allowed. Brazil also said on Sunday that it received notification from the government of Japan about the virus mutation found in travelers who passed through the state of Amazonas at the end of the year. Although the virus found in them has 12 mutations registered, the World Health Organization has ruled out that it does not react to the immunization initiated in some countries.
