O Brazil registered 2,513 new deaths for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, increasing the total number of fatalities counted since the pandemic began in March 2020, to 439.050. With this, the country approaches the mark of 440 thousand deaths, which should be beaten on Wednesday, 19. In the same period, there were registered 75.445 new cases of the disease, increasing the number of infected with the new coronavirus (Sars-Cov-2) to 15.732.836. As a result, Brazil remains the third country with the most cases of the disease, behind only the USA, with 32.9 million, and the India, with 25.2 million. Regarding the number of deaths, the country occupies the second place, being surpassed only by the USA, which add up to 587 thousand. The data were released by the National Council of State Health Secretaries (Conass) through an update made at 18h this Tuesday, 18th.
